Mō mātou
About us

Indigenous Design & Innovation Aotearoa (IDIA) is a Māori-led cultural creative agency comprising a team of highly experienced creatives with a passion for creating better futures for indigenous people. We work alongside organisations to provide expertise in design, research, innovation and strategy to create transformational change for indigenous people. We’re interested in how Te Ao Māori, and Māori ways of knowing and being can shape Aotearoa.

As a centre of indigenous design excellence we develop and utilise standards and methodologies that guide our processes and apply an indigenous lens to everything we do and actively encourage critical conversations about design recognising the right of indigenous people to lead the design process in a way that acknowledges, protects and values their whakapapa, their lived experiences as well as their own unique cultural narratives.
